Flower Boys explores the concept of the relation of flora and humans, particularly men. Throughout history, men are not often portrayed to be shown vulnerability or weakness. For this body of work, I want to explore the softer side of the boys and the way their feelings are expressed with the language of flowers. There are different ways flora can be expressed and symbolised in connection to humanity. For this specific body of work, different kinds of flora are explored in connection to feelings one may feel, whether culturally or subjectively. With violets, for example, they symbolise modesty and humility, as well as being a balance between heaven and earth. The exploration of the relationship between flowers and humans allow for the connection between the two, whether as a symbiotic relationship or merely symbolic of oneself.
